Secured these recently, 17x8 5x100 ET30. Most likely ST205 Celica fitment again but no major to mod to fit VWs etc - and they need a little TLC anyway.
Gawd I love these Speedies - so light, so strong, so lush. Wish they could be found in wider sizes for reasonable cash, but nah - people say they're out there but I don't believe in Santa anymore either. Will post some more pics in a few months when they arrive. What's the bet I run out of actual cool Progress' before I run out of puns using the word "progress"?
Anyway while I've got some momentum yesterdays post got me looking on Yahoo for more Progress. And low and behold here's one I like This one has 2JZGE, genuine BBS LMs in 17x9 ET20 (Skyline GTR fitment according to the ad) with 205/40s and coilovers. I'm really feeling it.... The ad might be dead by the time you read this but here it is here if you're quick http://page9.auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/k147717923Wow - March since I posted last. Hmmm, been busy.
Anywayz - was down at Tyretech this morning and spotted Tarran's Toyota Progress. WTF is a Progress??? Where's the taxi light? One of those cars you never look once at once, let alone twice. But check this logic - RWD, 1JZ or sometimes 2JZ power plants and shares a lot of components with Altezzas apparently (that means lots of cheap good bits). So the boys put in some work - 100mm lower than stock on 17x9 ET35 Ragamasters. Forgot to ask about tyre size but I'd guess 205/45s or 215/45s maybe.Yeah it's an unusual car - but I like people that push the boat out occasionally and take a chance on something different. That's progress!I'm on a Mk1 Golf bender at the moment. I can't get enough of the boxy little units. Maybe another Mk1 coming up? I'm thinking about it.
Came across these 3 pictures ona trawl that stood out from a similarity of style formula and photography perspective.
Enough said - just enjoy.
3 hours. Thankfully these are 15s so only 30 bolts per wheel. But still, 3 damn hours it what it took me to scrub the bolts clean, gripping them in the fingers of one hand with the other scrubbing them with a toothbrush and some Jif.
They're not mint, but now at least look good enough for a test assembly.BBS RS033 with 2.5" lip. OEM silver centre and half height caps.Wish I my other centres were good enough condition where I didn't have to refinish them, but they're not. So not sure where to go from here. Hmmmm
